    This hatch was not succesful. Only 1 egg was fertile but it never developed. Need a new incubator!

    Chicks are 13 days old and I moved them into their Wynola Ranch hutch, which we will use indoors. They seem perfectly happy! This will be a fine size when we cull all but 1 rooster and just have a small colony of adult layers.

    Moved 10 quail to their outdoor hutch (Dale's Quail tractor) on April 4th and they did fantastic!

    Unfortunately within a couple of days of moving everyone outside, at least one rooster became aggressive and pecked 3 other quail on the head. One quail was in terrible shape - after confirming he was a rooster, and mercy culled him. They are only 4.5 weeks old and not feather sexable, so we aren't confident in our vent sexing, but we did try to split the remaining quail up into a bachelor pen and a breeding colony.
