I'm also now getting an enclosure for some quail - it could probably house 8 or 1-2 rabbits, but I only want to keep 2 quails max due to upkeep/poop. Because I am single, I don't think I need more than two, plus the 1-2 hens. The quail will have a lot of room to fly around the cage and lay eggs.

I just need to find the right place to put the cage now and work out the rest of the things! Wish me luck!

My chicken has good feeding, hydrating and perching areas so far. She perches on the curtain rod, but won't go into the little nesting areas I've tried to make for her, even on a day when I have to leave her in!

I'd like to repurpose items if possible.

Any recommendations for ones chickens tend to like and use? Or should I just buy/make a box? It has to be low budget for me right now.

Hi from North County, San Diego. I currently have one young chicken, living in my bathroom at night, free ranging in the day. I need to figure out all the chicken things because I found her in my back yard, wasn't prepared for her!
