I use a five tray Excalibur dehydrator.
125 degrees for 25 hours.
This is the only tray that was ready to take out, I reset it for an extra five hours for the other four trays to continue, they have apple juice dehydrating in them.
It started about 3/8” thick and dehydrated down to less than 1/8”.
This is extreme leather, I can’t even chew the stuff!
The color is much darker than I had imagined it would be.
This is the skin and leftover fibers etc. blended into a purée after juicing some peaches. I’m making fruit leather from it.
The second picture is to try and show the color when compared to the color of butter.
I recently got these dried flavored mushrooms to try. I’m pleasantly surprised how good they are, they are hard and crunchy, so someone with few teeth might have to let them partially rehydrate before biting down on them.
