This is a good waterer, but only good for about a month. When the chicks get older they knock it over.
First time I turned by hand. I got a good hatch, but now it's so much easier.
Cons: Thermometer that comes with it is off.
I got 19 out of 22 healthy chicks.
Pros: lots of room
This is my favorite chick feeder, as they only knock it over if it's empty. The chicks have plenti of room, and it's easy to clean.
This is good for when the chicks are smaller and you only have a few of them. After a couple weeks they like to knock it over and perch on the top. I prefer the longer trough like ones.
Pros: Lots of Info
This is one of my 3 favorite books on chickens. Lots of info -not just the basics.

Pros: Great info
One of my favorites. It has a lot of new and different info that other books don't have. I like the chapter on how to sell for profit. It's very detailed and gives great ideas on how to market and where to sell.
Pros: Lots of Info, Organized
This is by far the best chicken book I have read, and is written in encyclopedia format. It's highly organized with a ton of info for both the beginner and the expert. Most books are pretty basic and have the same info as other books, but this one had lots of new info. For instance, it actually has a chart showing what happens when you breed blue, black, and splash together. It has lots of other charts, too.
Pros: Different Perspective, Great Pics
I like that this book was written from a Brit, because it gives a different perspective on chickens. There are some minor differences from what the Americans say. It's a pretty basic book that goes a lot into history.
Pros: Good Pictures
Cons: Basic
This is a good book for beginners, but doesn't go into much detail.

This is one of the best books, because it has a lot more information that the beginner books.

I tried other feed that made the coop smell, switched to this one, and the smell went away.
Pros: Hardy
Cons: More aggressive
They like to peck at me.

Pros: Calm
He's only a month old and the runt. He keeps to himself.
Pros: Confident
Cons: They fly
They're only one month in a brooder box, but they're very distinguishable. When everyone else is pecking at me or wildly running away, they like to investigate.

Pros: Intelligence
They're very different than the other chickens I have. They're neither agressive nor timid. They seem to come right up to me, which at times does scare me that I'm going to get pecked (I'm the timid one).

Orpington

Pros: Gentle
I didn't like the Orpington much at first thinking it was ugly and scared, but as she feathered out she's one of the prettiest chickens I own. She also became more comfortable and very sweet. She's the only chicken who doesn't scare me.
