Life gets in the way doesn't it!?
Currently juggling the renovation of an old (1750's) cottage, a new puppy, being self-employed and of course the chooks.
I have a nice little flock of Brahmas and a few others these days, some of them in the photo
I had a similar problem with mine this year, in the end I did put her and her chicks back in the main coop, but waited until the chicks were big enough to cope - about 6 weeks as I remember. I'm not sure if this is an orthodox or even correct way to do things as you do run the risk of the...
Well my sole flower hen chick grew into a rather pretty pullet... :)
And I managed to buy her two friends of a similar age...
And then this weekend, these little guys hatched...
So difficult to tell at that age what they could be. Presumably, based on what you've said about the parents they are all almost certainly cross breeds. Pictures of the parents may give you a better idea.
The little dark legged / beaked one does though look a little like a Splash Marans ? Or a...
Well I ended up with just one live chick from 6 eggs, my first time broody seems to have squished a second chick while hatching, one egg was empty and the others gave up at various stages.
Meet "six" (from the egg labelled 6)
Now all I have to do is have another go to get some more!
Have you tried asking in the main SFH thread? the folks there are really helpful: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/swedish-flower-hen-thread.375288/
Does look like a boy to me though

This is Ethel, she's a Wheaten Marans and 18 months old. She's sweet and friendly but no push-over (number 2 in the pecking order ;) ). A couple of days after I took this picture of her she went broody so she's busy sat on eggs right now.
Hello All! Are there any folks here from the UK that keep SFHs?
I've a broody sat on some SFH eggs and have everything crossed right now that something comes of it... Although I blame all of you - I've been lurking on the thread looking at all your pictures for a while!!
Just dropping by to say Hi! (Thanks Yorkshire Coop for the heads up)
I live on the edge of the moor near Huddersfield, W Yorkshire.
I have just a handful of hens - Copper Blue and Wheaten Marans and a couple of blue egg layers, I was sold them as CCL but they must be hybrids of some sort as...
Hi!
I've been lurking for a while now so thought it was about time I joined!
I've owned chickens off and on all my life, and now have a have a small free-range flock in my garden including Marans and Cream Crested Legbar crosses - I love the pretty chocolate and pastel blue coloured eggs in...
