Thank you! I know not to wash the bloom but I havent been washing before I crack and cook? is that ok? also, after a week on counter can I put in fridge if unused?
Hi!
Our ladies have started laying & see lots of different info on unwashed counter & fridge lengths! What do you go by? we won’t have the volume to jar preserve & plan to give away half cartons when we hit peak laying.
A few from this week for ref—I think today’s egg is from a new lady laying...
thank you! yes, thats only ventilation when interior coop window is shut. I’ve thought of assing higher narrower ones but they also have a lower roosting bar on other side of roost where air wouldnt hit them directly & I’ve noticed they still opt to sit near the window. our coldest temps are...
It’s our first winter with our ladies & I know we are not in a cold area (I am in SoCal) like people dealing with below zero temps. But I still worry when it gets to our lowest temps later this winter overnight if I need to have a heat source. In the summer I had a small portable battery...

In southern california & having a heat wave thru weekend getting up to 103/5 in day & cooling to 80’s at night.

thank you! I don’t have pics of roosts but can post them in am! the poop is just in that one corner & with only 4 chicks its not a ton so I’ve been spreading it out & sifting it nightly before they go to bed. I sift the sand run 2-3 times a day (basically whenever I’m in it). I was going to do a...
