    Why do they fight for position?

    Can some one explain what the pecking order is all about? I have a group of mixed ages that do well together except at night. They fight over a position on the roost. The roost is plenty big. A few of them peck and squawk over the same place. I don't get it.

    pasty butt in chicks??

    I had this problem with several and I learned that the paper towel or rag was rough on the chicks bum so I just let a little warm water run over the area and it came off alot easier then I followed up with vasoline. Good Luck
