How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

Rabbit Eye is a southern variety. I'm not sure if it's related to our northern blueberries. But, they do well in the southern climates, where our northern blueberries would not. Rabbit Eyes won't grow up here either.

How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

I assume they are all leafed out? And, you're in Georgia? This does not compute! Do you have some buckets or trash cans you could set over them? You could cover them at night, and as soon as the temp is above 32, you could uncover them. Generally, blueberries are very hardy, but, I'm...

How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

I think they may surprise you, and rise up from the stubble better than they were before. I had mice shear one of my dwarf lilacs right to the ground last winter. And that thing grew back very nicely. Of course, it didn't bloom, but it sure did grow back nicely!

How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

Have you tried taking a lower branch of the shrub that you want to propagate, nicking the bark or outer skin down to the cambium layer, and pegging it down to the soil, holding it in place with a rock, or a gardening staple? That allows it to root while still receiving nutrition from the mother...

How to Grow a Blueberry Bush

I've had 2 humane society dogs with wonderful results. The first was a black lab. Everybody knows what they are like. My son cut his teeth on her tail, and used her for a mobile support system when he was learning to walk. The second was a Terrier mix, definitely more of a gamble regarding...

We just upgraded from dial up a couple of years ago! I have an old fashioned telephone down stairs... remember the kind where you put your finger in the hole and turn the dial for each number???
