There's a ton of cases in Snohomish County, and King county Wa right now. Thats only 2 hours from me, though there haven't been any cases in my county which is a relief. Other than one a couple months ago.
I honestly don't pay too much attention to anything political, so I wouldn't have an opinion on meat production. But, the law suit against mass culling of birds is interesting. Not sure if it will affect backyard flock owners if it is passed, but it is interesting.
Has this been posted? Avian influenza in Washington.

I don't. Someone posted it on a local FB chicken group this morning. I was going to check the USDA website and see if I could find were it was posted. I'm assuming recently, but I also want to know when it was posted. Going to have to do some digging.
Thanks for that! I haven't seen that map. Thanks for posting that.
Crap, that green dot above Wa is freaking me out. That must be the BC cases? That is way way way to close for comfort. 😣
A thought, for those of you like me, who have a very large property. There’s plants, and bushes and song birds are going to be around inevitably. Could it be helpful to have Hurd feeders out? If you placed them away from the chicken run, could it actually help keep the birds away from the chickens?
I just saw this in another thread. How horrible! Thats so sad.
I hope your flock is alright and your able to avoid it. Crossing my fingers for you and your flock. :hugs
Looks like the USDA changed the setup of their AI info. I like that they added a map, makes everything easy to spot.
