I need advice. 😥 I have a hen who is super aggressive toward my new polish hens. I know the whole pecking order deal but its been a few weeks with introducing them thru separate cages & allowing them to coexist under supervision while free ranging. I have a brahma hen who is SUPER aggressive...
I have 3 ISA browns and they are all around 8 months old. Eliza, Erica and Heather.
Heather and Eliza has always been the closest and hang out together all the time. I have notice that recently Eliza has been hanging out with Erica instead.
yesterday, we notice that Eliza pecked on Heathers...
He pecked my toe, drawing blood, and now started pecking an egg I was collecting! Golden cuckoo maran at 24 weeks.. I have small kids, he's got to go 😞
I hate it, I feel like I failed him!
I’ve been wondering for a while, and thought I’d ask:
Is it possible for chickens to eat too much?
My hens free range and normally forage and eat feed every so often. However, the last week they have been staying in their run (even though their large run door is open to free range) and eating...

My light Brahma rooster is now attacking all the hens and my other rooster pulling feathers aggressively. I tried to give him a chance and basically separated him for a bit and when I let him back out he was right back at it.
He is a little over 4 months
is there any way to stop this...
We are long time chicken folks and have always raised Buff Orpingtons. Because of the pandemic we had to use Hoover Hatchery, which was new to us. Our buffs in this batch are terribly, horribly aggressive. Has anyone else had this issue?
thanks!
Help with an aggressive chick????
New chick momma here...
Yesterday we got chicks. We’ve had mature chickens for years, but this is the first time we have raised them ourselves. We brought home nine chicks yesterday afternoon (from a feed and tack store), some barred rocks, australorps, black...
I have a Buff Brahma named Bobbi who has always been the sweetest and most apt to show me friendly attention. Her breed is a docile breed (they're called the friendly giants!). Her and my other two hens (a speckled sussex named Nancy and a Buff Orpington named Marge) just turned 6months old and...
Hi, this is my first post.
I have a pet rooster (1yr old) who has recently stopped crowing all together and won't stop pecking me when I come close to him. He's usually a sweetheart who never pecks and loves cuddling (and crows like crazy).
This started when I took him away from some hens that...
So I have this cochin banty I've had for about 3 years now. I raised him from a chick and he's been nothing but sweet and gentle and has excepted every new hen for about 3 gens of chickens. But yesterday my neighbour gave me a new hen after the rest of his were eaten by raccoons. I introduced...
New to Turkey pet ownership. Paid a neighbor to let me take her instead of her being butchered cause she would come over everyday and want to be petted for hours a day. Built a coop, decent Turkey feed. She laid eggs, everything was fine. But suddenly she turned super aggressive to everyone...
Hi,
I have some Chinese geese and they were handled a lot and brought up around my dogs since they were 3 days old and started chasing my dogs away and biting them since they were only a week old. They were brought up around them and are now 2 months old and bite my dogs and make them yelp so I...
Also adding to the rooster rehoming thread....
Have a beautiful Black Minorca rooster available. Was purchased from an online hatchery in July as a chick along with 6 female chicks. Were excited about having a rooster in our flock but he is so protective of the hens that he goes after us and...
I've got three healthy and ridiculously skittish (and at times aggressive) 10 week old Mottled Java chicks, 2 have flogged me (Ursula and Lavar). One has exhibited flogging behavior since it was 1 week old. They have a lavish lifestyle with zero stress, eat Scratch and Peck organic grower and...
Hey everyone! Our duckling is nearing the 15 week mark and for the past couple of days his behavior has changed. He’s been abnormally skittish when we take him out of his cage making it very difficult for us to put him back in when we’re done cleaning and letting him stretch. It seems to all be...
So, my grandmother has 5 hens and 1 rooster. The rooster has never been aggressive or anything but these past couple of months I’ve noticed him attacking one of the hens. I’ve seen her feathers all over the place and at first we though it’s just her molting but he continues to attack her and I’m...
So, the short version is I need help integrating my two new muscovies with my three runners.
We’ve had four runners (2 male, 2 female) for about four years now. We’ve been trying to get more females for ages, but we live in a small area and no one is breeding runners. Honestly the four got...
Hi Guys.. New to the water fowl world. Two of my ladies are getting bullied excessively and they're currently bleeding from the wings as they're growing in. I am trying to figure out fowl behavior. I have a sneaking suspicion one of them might be a drake in disguise.. but I am not sure when...
Hello everyone! I just posted in the chicken behaviors forum about one of my adult hen’s aggression issues, so if you want some more background there, check out that post.
I ordered three baby chicks from MPC: a blue easter egger, a cream legbar, and a snowy easter egger. I am nervous about...
Hello. I have a frizzled cochin bantam and a porcelain d’uccles bantam. I have posted on here before about the cochin’s belligerent personality.
Essentially, Gwen, the d’uccles, was so depressed she looked like she was going to die because of the bullying. Now, I have them separated, and...
