Hey all, chicken newbie here. I have two chicks that hatched at my daughters school, they were born april 2nd (we got to watch our mystery chick hatch) and are now 8 weeks. One I'm pretty confident is a black star/sex link pullet, the other is ???? Sassy.
Sass started all yellow/white, and a...
We got this chick from tractor supply in the beginning of may. She was labeled as a midnight majesty maran, but as i'm looking at her she really doesn't look like my other midnight majesty maran chick. Could she be a black copper maran? She is also pretty skittish and isn't very friendly.
Hey all! I have ended up with 2 roosters. I am trying to determine which breed these are because I was going to give my grandparents one of the roosters, but they only want one if they are Barred Rocks. I have noticed they have a couple green looking saddle feathers and a couple brown side feathers.

Hi guys :frow
I bought a dozen mille fluer d'uccle eggs and as they started to hatch I realized pretty quickly that these were NOT d'uccle. The seller said they're mille fluer color and that's where the confusion happened, but I'm not buying it. Any guesses as to what these might be or might end...
Hello, I unexpectedly acquired some chicks. I believe they are at least 4 weeks old. I plan to ask the person who gave them to my mom the same question, I figured to ask here as well! I heard about wing sexing but couldn't really figure it out. If I could get input as to what breed they are and...
Four weeks old now. We had three other bantams from that assorted bantam bin at a local small farm store that managed to get one shipment from Hoovers hatchery before they stopped sending chicks out.
All three passed away. This is the only one to survive. So sad.
I want to say it’s an OEGB...
Sorry if this is dumb but I'm wondering if any educated chicken folks can tell me more about what breed my mutt chickens/Easter eggers are because when they were given to us we were only told they were Easter eggers.
Also I was wondering if anyone could take an educated guess at who lays what...

Hey so I’m just curious, what’s a good laying breed that’s also nice and gentle and lives long healthy lives?
(Preferably fun colored too)
I’m currently raising silkies but they will be separated from the other breeds if we now get others.
❤️
Hey. Kinda new here.
These are my about 3-4 month hens. I do have 2 month or two older hens who would pick on them and the rooster would too when they were tiny.
Not anymore, and when I put 5 baby chicks to get fresh air, these girls (Goldie (fast as I know a calico Cochin) and the brown one...
Small, yellow tannish, new to chickens & confused lol. I would like to know if anyone has this breed as what they are?!?! Purchased April 3rd still very small
Yes one is a rooster, the rest are hens. I just would love to know at least what breed at least a few are!
The last two are a few weeks younger than the rooster and gray ones.
The brown and white one has a lot of feathers on her feet, the brown one looks part silkie and is also covered in feathers
bought this chick from TSC listed as a “olive egger pullet” from week one I’ve been thinking it’s a cockerel due to lack of tail feathers and size of comb. Chick is now three weeks old. Any guesses what breeds were crossed to make him? What about sex?
