What do you think of my chicken coop? It houses 3 but could probably get a couple more in there comfortably. Its got a modified run for when there's predators around and automatic door to avoid those early morning wake up calls!
And why having an actual (blueprint) plan is a good idea, cause I didn't lol
My original idea was I knew I wanted it 8 foot long (bottom 4x4s) but finally figured 6 foot wide.... + the 2x4s running on the outside of the vertical 4x4s
buddy works at a hospital equipment delivery place so he had...
Does anyone have any experience in using wood chip mulch for their chicken run? (The kind you see at playgrounds, not sure if I’m using the right name)
My run is so muddy and STINKS because it’s at the bottom of a slope in my yard. I researched it online and seems safe to use, however...
Hello!
I am in need of a coop. I only have a budget of about $600 and I need advice!! My situation here is, I have 6 hens (1 silkie, 2 lavender orpingtons, 1 sapphire gem, 1 mottled Houdan, and 1 Easter egger)
They are currently in a coop way too small for them and I need a new one! I’ve read...

Last year my brothers built me a new duck house, and covered pen. I helped some when they needed some extra help but they did most of it. We were able to cut the expenses a little with using supplies that are around the house like… old 2x4s, windows, doors, plywood...
Hey guys, I've built things before like furniture, but never something this large. We want to construct a 6ft x 16ft fenced in lean-to chicken run with a roof for 4-6 chickens. I've got 17x 8ft pressure treated 2x4's leftover from a project of mine, I'd really love to use them for the roof of...
Hey everyone! Needing some insight on adding a duck enclosure to an existing chicken coop. We will have 2-3 runner ducks in here. All chickens and ducks freely free range during the day so this would just be for nighttime. We have an automatic door. So far this rough estimate is about 4.5’ x...
I stay in a tropical country. So it rains a lot. A good thing about the weather is that we don't have winter and temperatures stay in the range of about 23 Celsius (night) to about 35 Celsius (day).
My coop is in my fenced garden. I'm having a problem keeping the floors dry. It gets really...
So I've recently found this dog kennel (picture isn't mine) and I think it's pretty big and maybe could be used for other birds? I'm thinking maybe a trio of Japanese quails or just a brooding area for birds? If anyone comes up with what I can use this for I'd really appreciate it!! :love
So we'll be getting some ducklings and chicks soon, and we were thinking about making a coop in these rooms, does it seem okay?
The rooms are in an old shed, we will ofcourse empty out everything and put in what they need and clean it, it looks dirtier on camera rather than what it actually is...

I’m going to be getting a coop from the OverEZ brand. Originally, we were going to build a large chicken coop ourselves, but we have way too many other project going on so we won’t have the time to build one ourselves.
Currently, we have 10 full grown chickens who have outgrown their current...
Hey everybody! My family has recently bought a new house. It’s got a pond for our ducks and lots of space for our chickens to forage in, but unfortunately, our current chicken coop isn’t mobile, and we have to buy or build a new one when we move. However, there is a 12 x 14 foot shed on the...
So I’ve been adding to my run and was thinking about adding a dust bath inside my covered run I’m planning on using a kitty pool for the container but any suggestions as to what to use for the dust
Hello! I have a question for those who live in a place with pretty cold winters. We are in zone 5b and it regularly can be -10° - -20° or more (sometimes days in a row). I would like to know if the chickens will be safe and warm in there if we paired it up with an electric fence.
Thank you in...
Hey everyone! I'm thinking of building a new, and nicer chicken coop this spring and was wondering if anybody had some good plans for a 10 chicken coop that you can walk into. Would that be considered a medium or large chicken coop?
Thanks!
(It also snowed today and my Orpingtons did NOT like...

Hi all,
I have 3 hens all the same age, however 2 or the 3 have started to refuse to roost in the coop at night while the other one stays in there all night and half the day, she also isn’t broody at all.
The other 2 have decided to roost on the dogs bed.
I also cleaned the coop out and...
