Hey Y’all! So I just ordered some eggs. Some may be full breeds, but there will be some hybrids. Some of the potential hybrids are : porcelain/Mille Fleur D’uccle, Buff/Partridge bantam Cochin, & Red Pyle/BB Red Old English Bantam. Any ideas or examples of what any of these could look like?
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I randomly got chickens in my backyard one day. I tried to find their owner, but to no avail so I kept them lol, that was 3 years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
12 chickens now :D
(3) What breeds do you have?

I know there’s a couple posts about this already, and what you read says 2-15 weeks for rooster sperm to dissipate. But I’m curious if anyone has personal experience. I have all my birds together right now, but in a month or so I want to breed certain birds with a specific rooster, and I was...
Need to rehome my 10wk old cockerels. They are so beautiful and so sweet. Great way to introduce frizzle feathering to your flock and make such a nice addition. I am in Bedford, New York.
I’ve been keeping chickens for many years. Mostly Standard Cochins, but right now I have 3 Cochins, 3 Amercaunas, and a couple X’s. The darn Bantams & Silkies are so darn cute!! My grandkids would flip. Can Standards and Bantams intermingle without stress and bullying? Thx!
I decided to post a new thread since the other one just got buried.
So, these are all the details. I bought four 14-16 week old standard Cochins two days ago. The seller had them cramped in a very small box on a hot day, and they were obviously very stressed. On the road home, one was making...
Earlier today we bought four Partridge Cochins from an online seller. We were so excited to pick them up, but I could immediately tell they were not acting normally. Long story short, I figured out at least two have sour crop. They were drinking SO much water and some started spilling out of...
Hi! We’re new here and to raising chicks! We got 9 chicks earlier this week and are loving them so much I’m already planning for more!
The ones we have are a variety of breeds (RI red, Orpington, barnevelder, astralorp to name a few). Somehow in my research I missed Cochins and silkies and now I...
Hi there guys, Im looking for mille Fluer' or Calico, partridge, buff cochins and Blue laced Wyandottes. I live in Southern Oregon and am not having luck finding anyone. I would prefer chicks but my neighbor has an incubator I can use. She incubates her emus eggs because the male is the "...
Honestly this is just for fun--I'm already pretty sure what's what but I'm gonna post these babies anyways because @Overo Mare needs more Cochin pics in her life!
So these are some babies that my broody Cochin got to 20 days, then I panicked and tried to move her to a safer area and she didn't...
Greetings everyone,
To begin, I'll answer the recommended questions according to new member introductions thread;
1) I have had a flock of chicken for five years now with three generations of hatch-lings, all started with 4 silkie-bantams.
2) We currently have 3 pullets and one rooster...
i was given three cochins (so i thought) and every day i get a small light pink egg and every other day i get a very pretty blue egg. one chicken definitely doesn't look like a cochin but the other two i thought did? are their eggs supposed to be this color?
