Hello everyone!
So my rooster Francis (the rooster on my profile except he's all grown up and fabulous now) got attacked by two puppies we had (I gave them away) and he got some neck injuries.
Now he was recovering from that and he started eating and drinking on his own again until one of my...
A dog broke into our yard and attacked one of our chickens last night. The chicken looks fine except there is a 6-8 inch long "thing" hanging from its throat. It feels warm to the touch but also feels and looks like matted feathers. There was no blood, and other than this, everything looks...
Day before yesterday, my neighbor's dogs (once again) visited my flock. The cops were called and I thoroughly bitched out my neighbor about leash laws and that if I saw their dog again, it would be killed.
Anyways, they were able to get ahold of three hens. One was just slightly plucked, no...

We recently had our first loss to a predator. Unfortunately the predator is also ours. :th I started free ranging my chickens in the afternoons and everything was going well. My dogs are in a fenced yard, so I thought things would work. Unfortunately, I am as stupid as my chickens. I never...
So, the other day I was training my dog outside. We where doing our usual commands, when I dropped a treat. My chickens are very curious and friendly, so Tammy decided to investigate what I had dropped. My dog went to bite her because for some reason he thought her beak could take a dog treat...
I just got started a week ago. I was so proud that my 4 chicks made it almost one whole week. Tonight in a matter of 3 minutes my pit bull mix got into the coop and took one of my pullets. The other 3 were fine but we found the 4th in her dog bed inside. I read up on dogs and tried my best...
One of our chickens was hurt badly by our dogs. There is a large gash underneath her thigh, and it's not bleeding badly. However, you can see her muscles. We gave her water and a piece of cheese. If you have any ideas on how to help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hello community, I'm writing this with such a heavy heart. We came home last night from picking up my daughter, to find feathers all over, we found another huge pile elsewhere. After searching, my neighbor came & told us he found our sweet girl in his dogs mouth. He put colloidal silver on a...

Hey everyone,
My little silkie rooster Tito got attacked last night by a dog. She had him in his mouth but when I checked him he has no punctures nor blood. Right now he can't crow (and oh how he loves to sing) and he's very sad.
What can I do to make him feel better? Please help :hit
Yesterday morning, my newly-laying Isa Brown decided to fly out of their run and into my dogs' run. I came out to find her laying on her back with two dogs surrounding her. I thought she must be dead, but she was breathing when I got there! I picked her up and checked her out. A ton of feathers...
Hello, I recently got a rooster as a pet for my birthday. It' the first time I had ever own one. He recently was attacked by a dog who somehow got in my back yard. I thought he was dead because he didn't move at all. But when I got closer I saw him breathing. He doesn' have any viable injuries...

Well, one hen, the smaller one is doing very well now. Her feathers are growing back, she’s noisy, inquisitive, greedy and a lovely little character.
The larger one is a different story. She’s...
Today I went to go check on my ducklings with their mother hen. However I saw my mum's pet dog 'Muss (because he's enorMuss) attacking a duckling. It's cheeping sounds very off (Kind of gurgly) and it appears to be in shock. Muss has teeth issues, so I don't know if the skin was punctured or...
Hi there,
I'm utterly heartbroken, as a strangers dog attacked my beloved Pekin Bantam Rooster on Tuesday, I did what I could but the vets said the kindest thing in the end was to put him down. I'm heartbroken, he was truly a part of our family. He acted more like a dog then a chicken!
Anyway...
One of my Barred Rocks was attacked by a dog, through the fence, luckily; but her beak was chewed so badly she can't eat or drink. Is there anything we can do? Any advice would be appreciated.
