    Aracauna or Orpington

Hi, I was needing helping telling the breed of my chicks. I am supposed to have two lavender Araucana chicks but their was a chance that one was a Orpington. The chicks are all between 2-3 weeks old. Though the chick in the first photo will be about a week older than the chick in the second photo.

Prefer Merrick's vaccinated but not necessary. Eggs MUST be a 4 or...

I acquired a Lavender Belgian D'Anver Rooster by chance and he only sees my Serama hens through the wires that separate them. I don't want my Serama girls to get too attached because I have a Serama Rooster who I am waiting to introduce them to when they are older. He is currently entertaining...

    Depressed and Grieving Hen

Help! My chicken, Lavender, is struggling after her "mother" and "best-friend" died. Lavender is a silkie hen, about 1 to 1 1/2 years old, laying frequently (every day). We had an ill Rhode Island Red hen that was her "carer" in a way - they were always together. She got an impacted crop and...

    Straight Lavender Brahmas anyone?!?

I had a small breeding flock of lavender brahmas that I obtained from Carolina Rare Chicks. Unfortunately, a fox just took out my one and only Lavender Roo! I'm absolutely devastated. It doesn't look like any more are currently available. Does anyone know of any other breeders? Thanks!!

    Silkie color. Lavender or blue?

Just got this smooth girl yesterday, and was told by the breeder she'll turn lavender. She's 9-10 weeks old. Mom is a lavender dad a silver. What do you think? Could she actually turn light lavender like her mother? And what is "sideboard" or "sidewalk" coloring the breeder used such terms to...

Lavender Orpingtons dob June 5, 2017

Interested in knowing what sex you think my 6 Lavender Orpingtons are; I determined pretty early that number 1 is a roo. His wings, tail and stance are very different then the other 5 which I am hoping are pullets. Number one has just a tiny round fluff tail while the other 5 have very...

    Ameraucana gender help?

Is it possible to tell just by their combs at 10 weeks old. Some are a tad older, but all are by now so I'll just call them 10 weeks. I have 11 that I'm trying to figure out. From looking at pics online of others of the same age, I keep thinking all of ours look like roos based on their...

    What is my giant guy??

This guy (Teacup) is as tall as my dog. He was a "mystery rare" chick. What the heck is he? And is that blue or lavender? He's less than a year old ( most of the ladies around him are a few years older). When he crows, he sounds like a cross between a monkey and a train. :) Thanks!
