Wow! Those are so cool! I am the most excited to see the carving you are going to do for this, not gonna lie. No one's ever done a carving for Secret Santa/Summer before!
There's a cute little stars and stripes one and I LOVE all of the colors of stain that you used. They're all very unique.

They are called Comfort Birds, many woodcarvers do them, you can look them up on the internet and get a much better explanation about them. Basically they are like a get well card.

Ohhh so they are naturally different colors? Are the dark ones black walnut? Or something else?

Yes, Black Walnut and Pine. Cut them out on the bandsaw, then carve them down to shape with a knife, and then hand sand to smooth shape. Not complex, pretty easy to do, I guess you can do one in about a hour or so from the rough cutout. The hand sanding gives a good arm and hand workout, lol.

We had a black walnut with a branch that hung over into the neighbor's yard back when I lived in town and she made us cut down the branch.
I sure wish someone could have used that branch for some project or another!

@Blue Raptor, I would like to join the photography group plz, this idea sounds so fun! But I have a few questions 1st- do I need to provide my address to the people who drew my pic? Or can they just like send it to me via BYC?
And how does this work?

And also how do I know who I'm drawing for? I did read the directions and they were clear but all the info is just overwhelming for me, so sorry

They'll just post it on byc, though once the person I drew for actually bought the painting from me and I mailed it from her.
Matty will spin a wheel and then she'll send a pm to whoever it lands on to pick who to draw for from the list of participants. Then that name gets crossed of and she'll spin the wheel and the next person gets to pick a name that hasn't already been crossed off.

You’re alright! And oh my, no, you don’t have to send your address. The finished products will just be digital photos.
Once you’re in the pm, just post 1-2 pictures of animals/pets or something in nature like that for someone else to draw!
I’ll spin a wheel, and when it lands on your name, I’ll provide a list of the people you can choose to draw for!
