My eggs are rocking when I talk to them or beat on the bator window.

Kiki that reminds me of finding nemo when darla harasses the fish tank with such enthusiasm
where is your thermometer(s) in the incubator? with the janoelle 12 there are hot/cold spots and the heat comes from the top-down. slightly lower temps are better in general than temps too high as well! low temp will result in delayed hatches while too high temps will kill!Boy this incubating thing is nerve wracking. I pulled eight eggs last night that I’m pretty sure are duds and put them on the edges. Then I fit the remaining in the turning tray in the center.
Several had really great, active looking embryos and several looked pretty good but maybe not quite as far along. Some were just too dark to tell much.
So this morning when I checked temp it was several degrees lower than expected. It had been measuring between 99-100 F and was more like 96-97 this morning. Could this just be a false reading because I had to move the thermometer with the racks in there now? If it is real can they still survive a dip in temp like that? I’m at work until 5:30 now so nothing I can really change until then.
Thanks for your thoughts!
i’ve got 2 late hatchers right now that I shrink wrapped pulling fluffies. I cracked one this morning and seems ok, the other I cracked this evening still not out yet but hopefully i can finish cracking him by bedtime.......i have to get bator cleaned tomorrow (day 22) as we are leaving town for a couple days (hubby demanded a spur of the moment fishing trip for all his hard work!!) my 19 yo is in charge of bird care while we are gone, so i’m trying to make things as easy and idiot-proof as possible.
Oh, to live somewhere muggy.
I shrink-wrapped and killed a chick *just* pulling out fluffies occasionally last hatch.
Be careful when you seed it because it has a insecticide coating on it, you don't want your birds to get to it before it sprots.I have just picked 2 lbs of clover seed. It is a non-invasive, perennial, cold-weather-productive, super protein packed, extremely grazing resistent variety. I will claw my way into the ranks of pasture-owners one way or another!
