⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

Apple Cake

1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp sucralose
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
6 cups apples, peeled and sliced thinly

Topping

2tbsp sugar
2 tbsp sucralose
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, 2 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp sucralose together. Mix well. Beat eggs and milk together with vegetable oil and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients. Pour into buttered 9" layer pan.

Spread the apples on top of the batter.

Mix 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp sucralose and cinnamon together. Sprinkle on top of apples. Add slices of butter on top.

Bake at 400°F for about 35 minutes.

For those that use sugar and not sucralose, replace the sucralose with sugar 1:1 and reduce the baking powder to 1 1/2 tsp. I highly recommend using aluminum free baking powder.

Allow to cool before eating.

Heard it, but I can't quite remember what it means... something along the lines of "incredible," right?
Incredibly inflated language, lol. I think "bombast" may have meant some kind of material that was stuffed in clothes.
Carp... forgetting words from time to time doesn't mean that you're getting dumber or that your memory is failing. I've lost count of how many times I've mistakenly used one word in place of another or have spent literal minutes trying to place a word. It happens a lot.
I'm not trying to dismiss your problems, either -- I'm just pointing out that you aren't necessarily getting worse cognitively. Maybe you're stressed. Maybe you're distracted by other things. Maybe you haven't had a reason to use certain words in a long time. The worst thing that you can do for your mental state -- both in the moment and in the future -- is immediately jump to the worst conclusion.
It's not just from time to time! It's definitely more difficult for me to retain stuff than it used to be. I'm not subaverage verbally, but it definitely feels like I've gotten more mediocre. Abilities can genuinely change over the course of developmental trajectories. Some get dumber, and some gain ability, all without having much control over it.
