Wellā€¦ supposed to bešŸ¤£ mine and @Ilovemychicks08 ā€˜s are notšŸ¤£ (not to say anything bad about TuckeršŸ˜Š) mine used to be very very reactive with strangers. He is much better now though, only the occasional growl. I have heard that comparison many times, and itā€™s so true!!
Mines reactive to but its because of bad interactions. Dogs and people are nos and i learned to work with it.

Like any dog you have the good ones(some rescues but most from ethical temperment tested golden breeders) . So many BYB dogs have really ruined goldens and other breeds. There is a stereotype for each dog. Like bullys are seen as aggressive and goldens as friendly but that could change in a instant with bad temperament.

And no worrys about saying anything bad.
He isnt aggressive just do i know if he would bite or not no. So i never even think about taking a chance.

Completely true! My family got Chase from a really good breeder, he just wasnā€™t socialized at all. That was completely my momā€™s fault, I wanted to take him everywhere but my mom said it was too much work. Now Iā€™m left to deal with the issues she caused.

Neither Denver nor Tucker was from a good breeder. Well guess i dont know Tuckers(but he wasnt from amish) the breeders address was on the paper we got with him and we were going that way and drove by they definitely werent amish had tons of vehicles. They could have been medinight though).
Denver was from a friend her dam has a good temperment and the sire seemed to as well. She barely got any socializing and loves most people. We got her end of covid and still had lots of places on lockdown.

Tucker was socialized he had a puppy class and a obedience class. He was in stores training and i tried to expose him to noises early. But it didnt help after other owners let their dogs offleash and it scared him

Yeah, thatā€™s Chase too. Iā€™m nearly positive he wouldnā€™t ever bite anyone, but the other day my sister tried to pick him up (after I literally said he wouldnā€™t like it) and he completely flipped out. He started growling, and then barking, and then he lunged at her face. Sadly, I think he was close to biting. I think it is partially a little my fault though, because I remember him looking at me for a solid few seconds after he growled and before he lunged. I know he was checking with me to ask what he should do, and I was so stunned that I didnā€™t tell him to stop. I know he would have stopped if I had told him. I think he took it as a go because I didnā€™t tell him to stop.

So you think Tucker would still be like that if the dog situation hadnā€™t happened?

I wouldnt allow him to be picked up by anyone again unless he is ok with it.
Most of the time even before Tucker reacts i see rhe signs. Stiffness, hackle fur, way he looks, growls, and then the reactjon.
When people say a dog bit without a warning its because they didnt see it.

Your sister should have put him down at the growling though

No honestly. If the dog situation didnt happen one after another i think he wouldnt be reactive. Maybe still not sure of men. He never was but i could have handled that.

Yeah, I truly had no idea he was gonna do that. I just knew he would be uncomfortable. I NEVER would have allowed her to do that if I had any idea. Thatā€™s very true, and same for Chase. She wasnā€™t able to pick him up, he is way too heavy, but she did stop trying as soon as she heard it, but the damage was already done.
