1. Name? I'm Barnie!
2. Are you an artist, aspiring artist, or art lover? All three 😅
3. Favorite art style/medium? Writing is a different kind of art, but I enjoy that. I also love protest art and sketching, as well as animal-inspired clothing and jewelry!
4. The goal you want to reach with art? None, I just do it lol
5. Attach pictures of art you are proud of, art you want to end up being able to create, or art you like to look at. I don't have any on my device rn, I will when I get a chance
Welcome! What kind of genre do you like to write?

I’d appreciate some advice on how to make my character drawing skills better too, I can’t really get proportions right, also noses are tricky
I draw in a slightly anime style, not realistic yet
First is a sketch that I’ll end up doing the full character for later
Humans are so tricky for me, it is always the symmetry of the face that gets me

your 3 drawings here look great. The only thing that stands out to me at first glance is the one on the right, the ears seem to be in the wrong spot, but that's easy to mess up, i do it a lot. The top of the ear lines up with the top of the eyebrow, where it connects to the face at the top of the ear lines up with the corner of the eye, and the bottom lines up with the bottom of the nose. Mind you, if you're drawing ears like what your first 2 drawings have they could really be just about anywhere, Generally I try to center mine around where the ear canal should be since it has to go through bone structure.

One thing that clicked in my head when I heard it watching a video, can't recall who said it now, was to make sure all the pieces of the face are facing the same direction. Taking pictures of your own face at different angles to see how the nose and eyes and things look at different angles together could help.
I have never heard the ear positioning explained like that, and I am happy I have now!

I don't draw humans often, but I now have that info for if I do!
