11 week old Splash Australorp help please

I had a similar thought. The thing that's throwing me off is the red around the eyes. If it's a pullet, it almost looks like she's getting ready to lay.

Does anyone know how they get the "splash" coloration? I don't know if the Australorps are diluted with Leghorns, in which case maybe she will lay earlier? Or it's just a rooster and this is wishful thinking!

Yeah, it's comb and around the eyes is the same depth of colour as a hen i have who is about 6.5 months old. I expect her to start laying soon.

I agree, cockerels start to develop saddle feathers around that age.
