12 week old Barred Rock ? Any hens

I am new to this breed. We have 5 Plymouth Barred Rocks. They are now 12 weeks old and I fear we have mostly Roos. Hoping for 1 but not all . Any suggestions from my pictures ? Thank you all. Love this group.

I agree, they all look like pullets to me. At 12 weeks I would expect cockerels to have much more vibrantly red combs/wattles than the birds in these pics. Most cockerels would also have at least the start of thin pointed saddle and hackle feathers by this point. And I would expect crowing, especially if there isn't an already established dominant rooster.

The really questionable bird does have a more developed comb and wattles than the other 3, but they are still within the normal range of sizes for a pullet. I would expect a cockerel to have a bigger comb. Is there any reason you suspect cockerel other than comb/wattle size?

Okay this is very helpful. My main concern was they all appear grey and not more black as I would expect for a hen.

Where did you get your Plymouth Barred Rocks? Are they from a heritage breeder? If so they are likely all pullets. At twelve weeks a cockeral should appear much whiter than pullets. If they are hatchery stock I would keep an eye out that they are not all slow developing cockerels.

They all look like pullets to me. Mine are 11 weeks old, and you can clearly see the one Roo in the photo I took last week.

They are paler than I'd expect in barred rock females, but generally only pullets get that greenish wash on their legs. So I'm with those who think they are all pullets.
