I got my first egg today!

It came from my Austra white at 18 weeks five days old. The egg weighs 1.5 ounces.

I have one simple question, how would you describe that egg color? I’m having problems figuring it out. Best I can come up with is off-white, maybe cream with a slight hint of brown.

What do you guys think?

I call that light tan. That is at the lightest end of the eggs that I get from my brown egg laying flock.

Congrats on the first egg. :)

Not surprising considering the Austra-white is a hybrid between a brown egg layer (Australorp) and a white egg layer (Leghorn).
