Hi! Last week two of our bantams were injured by a raccoon attack. We have isolated them together, applying antibiotic eye ointment on one and wound care spray to both. Also spoon feeding yogurt and soft egg, syringe drop water as needed- sometimes they eat and drink well on their own and other days they won’t touch food or water and I’m not sure why. We are Cautiously optimistic, they appear to be getting better each day.
My question for entry to the flock (once all wounds are healed and birds are strong again) - my plan is to either gradually introduce them back via free time- building over time until we add them to the coop at night. My other thought is to introduce them and add them into my group of about 6 older chicks, bantams annd anmericaunas, and then add them back to the flock with the adolescent group…. Thus fewer addions to the flock and larger peer group overall…what do you all think?

I vote reintroduce to the flock they came from. That way the injured chickens have one reintroduction instead of two in short order - less stress for them hopefully. But you could do it either way, and it would most likely be just fine.
