What did you do in the garden today?

Today I worked out in a commercial blueberry field replacing a cellular modem on the monitoring system for their solar array.

I am getting to the point that I try to ignore everything I don't like about big sites like these. The plastic, the trash, the chemical fertilizers and amendments, and the pesticides. It makes it very difficult to purchase things in the store. DS loves berries, so on occasion I buy them out of season when our plants aren't producing. I cherish the fruit, but I cringe a bit when I buy it. So much hard work, so much impact... It's a double edged sword and I know so many people buy fruit and just let it mold and pitch it.

Anyway, I watered a little today. Thinking about where to plant strawberries. I'm worried I may need to reclaim some of my lawn to do this. Maybe lose two feet of lawn for a long berry planter. 🤔
Could you make a stairstep planter for your strawberry plants. It might be a better idea

Planted the popcorn. Caged the broody. Planted one and a half of the raised beds. Planted melons, transplants and direct seeded. Planted stevia I bought today. My seeds didn't germinate from what I harvested. Planted more peppers, and my celery. Planted some of my winter squash and pie pumpkins. Pruned the suckers off of my grapes and watered the original clover patch.

All in all I got a ton done.

The chicks are getting bigger. Some are so tame you can just scoop them up and snuggle with lots of pets.

Whew! I'm tired now just reading this impressive list of accomplishments. Beautiful yard and gardens.

Stinging nettles! I know they have a lot of good properties, but the roots go down way deep and choke off the other plants, also, the seeds are lightweight and fly all over the garden, causing fresh stinging nettles to grow everywhere, and, as the name says, they STING 🙄
Wear gloves, pick and eat or sell. I've read they can be bought at farmers markets. Supposed to make delicious greens. I've never tried them.

Just watered the garden as well, again ,forecast for a week, no rain 🙄

No farmers market near here, then, you would need a commercial license to sell ( we are in Germany 🤪) and I fear, most people have enough stinging nettles, that they don’t need to buy extra 🤪
