These chicks are 4.5 weeks old. What do you think - did we lose out this time on the male/female genetics dice? The sooner I know, the sooner I can try to place them, as I'm pretty certain I have some roosters in my other two breeds of chicks. They are slow in getting feathers, but I'm seeing more black on three of them. Sorry for the poor photos; these guys love to try to take dust baths whenever I take them out for their daily time in the yard, and it's hard to get a decent photo. 1, 2 & 3 all look to have black feathers coming out on legs; chest not so much as the moment. Tried to include a shot of the combs of the three that have the most black. These aren't hatchery, but instead from a local breeder.
