3 week old duckling possibly ill

Duckling just today started stretching its Bill a lot and seems to have less energy and a bit quiet. Feeding duck and goose starter w treats of peas, tiny bits of coriander and parsley. Putting grit out for them every other day. The other duckling is fine. Any thoughts? I am worried particularly as they only have each other.

I have 2 thermometers in brooder and am adjusting heat lamp regularly. They have had brief paddles in warm bath in bathroom followed by towel dry, cuddle and heat lamp but maybe got a chill somehow? So worried

Feel it's body and make sure everything feels ok and it isn't acting in pain when you touch certain areas. be sure he/shes eating. Provide some electrolytes for energy. good luck!

Everything feels OK. Duckling doesn't seem to be in pain but sits down after every few steps and/or bites of food/drinks. It's a worry. Electrolytes.... from the pharmacy? Or water w a dash of honey and salt?

that's good! just about every farmstore should sell poultry electrolytes for only a couple bucks. no prescription needed. But yes honey and salt can work fine!

If duckling is sitting down a lot it ‘could’ be a sign of weak legs from niacin deficiency

I thought that about niacin but they have the correct starter food for ducks and geese. Moreover, they love thawed out frozen peas. Could this duckling still be niacin deficiency?

No farm store anywhere near me. What I went thru to find duck starter even! I will see if I can order online but in the mean time a dash of sugar/honey and salt. What ratio do you think? They go thru the water ...mostly spill it and soil it so I change it so...thinking can't be too too weak. Thoughts?

I had a duckling with moderate niacin deficiency even though I fed him duck starter and added nutritional yeast. He would get tired and sit down a lot. His legs looked normal but he was obviously weaker
