4 legged chick - updated w/ pics 6/28 on page 7

That is one cute chick. Whatever you decide to to, I hope he makes it, extra vent and all.

i would leave him as he is .... i just hatched 30 eggs and one came out with a crossed beak and only one eye and hes the one i spoil the most

i love him to death just make sure he gets plenty of vitamins he probably needs a little more then the others

wow! He's so sweet! I hope he make's it. I agree that amputating would do more harm than good. Why risk infection, if the chick may be fine? Good Luck! Keep Us posted!

Thanks for all the inquiries. Quatro is doing great. I need to get more pics. I am trying to say her instead of him since I have such bad luck with roosters that turn super aggressive. Even if she doesnt ever lay I am hoping for a hen.

I have to bath her every other day to remove the poo. She is very patient and hardly makes a peep. I fear this may always be a problem because of where her vents are located. a little higher up so it lands on her. Both vents still working.

She is growing fine. The same size as the chicks she was hatched with. The small inflamed area(from the poo) on her second legs has healed, scabbed over, and now completely gone which is a relief.
