So I know golden comets are sexlinked I got 2 at a certain feed store and they were labeled pullets they had the proper coloring and the stripes down their backs but as they’re getting older I’m wondering if they’re actually pullets or maybe they’re pullets but not actually golden comets...?!?!..... they’re 4 weeks old now and I had someone recently point out to me in a chicken group that their feathers should not be as white as they are if they’re indeed pullets, the person mentioned the possibility that they may not be true sexlinked because they could be “second generation” which would make them look like pullets but not be pullets and then I had someone Else chime in and tell me that if they came from a hatchery ( which they did they’re from HH ) this would never happen because they don’t breed them that way or something I dk it’s all confusing to me.......so here are some pics of them as babies and now I would really appreciate any input (there’s only 2 golden comets in these photos the other 2 are “sapphire splash pullets” but I don’t believe they’re an sexlinked breed like comets are, but honestly I can’t find like any info on sapphire splash they’re a spin off of the sapphire gems I guess I dk)

I've raised/am raising quite a few ISA Browns, which are probably quite similar. I think a lot of them just tend to have more white on them when they are younger, and then develop more brown as the get more feathers, and grow more. Maybe someone else will have some more information. How old are they?

They’re 4 weeks old now

They’re about 9 weeks old now and no reason to believe they’re anything other than pullets, their feathers have come in with much more red, combs are pink/yellow still and no wattles
