I have not tried this yet as I don't have any cocoa.I am going to try it after I buy some next time I go to the grocery store.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons cake flour(that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips(optional)
a small splash of vanilla essence
1 coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The
cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or
night!

just want to say, cake flour isnt plain flour. What you buy for everyday use is all purpose flour. Cake flour is more dense and something different. To make two cups of cake-and-pastry flour (cake flour), combine 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour with 1/4 cup cornstarch

does sound yummy

You must have been in the kitchen at the same time as me & my daughter. Ours tasted good but it seemed kind of spongy & I didn't like the chocolate chips. But we had fun spending time together in the kitchen. Even if it was just 5 min. Thanks for the recipe.

You are right about the cake flour being different than plain flour. I did a cut and paste from a friend who sent it and I am sure she only has self rising in her kitchen. Home cooked to her is a frozen one of those meal that you buy in the freezer section and throw in the crock pot.

Anyway glad to hear that it turned out okay and imade note that it is better without the chips. I will hit my local Aldi one day this week and get some cocoa I do want to try it.

Any suggestion on a way to make it less spongy?
