We decided to grab this chick in question from TSC about 5 weeks ago. He/she was the only dark chick in a tub of White Leghorn babies and we thought "why not". No clue the breed, but we are leaning toward Prairie Bluebell Egger or Olive Egger. Does anyone know? And can anyone tell roo or hen based on my pics? Comb and waddles look a little pink to me, sooo ((shrug)) Here's hoping for a hen but I'm not holding my breath lol

Looks cockerel to me but keep an eye on it.
Thank you. Crossing everything for a hen lol Mostly because he/she is SO docile and social and my youngest has fallen absolutely in love. IF it is a roo, we plan to try a collar and if that works, GREAT! If not ((sigh)) He'll have to go.

He's not being social or friendly, he's testing your boundaries. You might want to stop any pet treatment and start ignoring him to reduce the chances of him being a terror once hormones kick in.

ughhh oh no. Alright...noted and thank you again.

Welp...Willow is indeed a roo (surprise surprise right??) 11 weeks old...still no crowing, though ((shrug)). I am still very interested to know his breed and maybe some of you can tell now that he is maturing? I am wondering if he may be a Blue Laced Wyandotte? Blue Laced red, maybe??
