6 Double-Yoke Quail Eggs in the Incubator

Hey all, I am not new to incubating eggs (chicken or quail) but this round of 8 quail eggs that are in my incubator and due to hatch in the next 2-3 days are different. My husband and I just realized that 6 of the eggs that are in there are from a hen that seems to only lay double-yoke eggs. We are now super worried that all 6 of those may not make it :-( I have assisted chicks with hatching a couple of times in the past, but what can I do to assist the double-yoke ones if needed?? Any advice is appreciated. We’re just worried and bummed. Thanks in advance.

Have you candled the eggs? Many times they don't make it to the end of the incubation. It also can happen that one chick is stronger than the other and the weakest one will die.

Hi! I have not candled any of the 8 eggs. Today is day 16 and none of them have pipped as of yet :-(

I hope so 2! I am also on day 20 with some chick eggs and I am so anxious, I am having to literally sit on my hands! litteraly, why do I do this to myself?!

Awww do you have some double yolk chicken eggs? Are most of them single yolked though? I honestly don’t know if I have ever read a post about a double yolker that successfully hatched, although I’m sure it does happen! Hope your babies hatch well! Update us on what happens!

Nope, unfoetunately, Have never had a double yoke develop much at all really I currently have some quail eggs incubating and im sure a couple are doubles but early on. However, far more time critical at the moment, I have ten chicken eggs on night 20. I am worried as several are badly saddled. I dont think any have internally pipped yet, a few are definitely malpositioned. They are all important but one of the saddled eggs is from a breed that I have been trying to hatch several times ans have had no luck! They are somwhat difficult to find here and I am so anxious for it to be okay! So, I am currently, just trying to keep busy . Thank you for your kind best wishes!
