I know these are tough to sex so just posting for fun. Bought these from Alchemist as day olds to satisfy a broody. 6 weeks tomorrow.

#1 is darker and still isn't showing any copper. #2 is lighter and showing copper on the neck and breast. Also just mounted its cream legbar sister. Grabbed her head and thrusted like it was born to breed. Poor girl. She's only 6 weeks!

I'm not sure what sex they are at all other than I just watched the lighter one mount a pullet. That's why I posted. Wish I could get better pics but mama is full on protection mode and gets cranky when anything looks at her babies. Will post a follow up pic in a few weeks. I am hoping one is a pullet otherwise I will have to regime one of them

I think cockerals as well, we got 4 FBCM biddies, (which I hand picked), knowing I could not have roosters, and the next day I told my husband I thought 1 was a cockeral, needless to say, Rooster Boy had to be re homed.

i have a golden laced wyandotte I was sure was a cockerel because of how fast and large the red comb came in. By a month it was twice the size as the rest. She was our first layer. Now I just wait and hope you all are wrong ;) I'm okay with one more roo. Not two though.

I know it hasn't been 2 more weeks but we got our hands on the little chicks and got some close ups without compromising our health for a quick minute. Mama is serious! Chick 1 is darker and I think y'all are wrong and she will lay the most beautiful eggs. So much drama holding her and she doesn't settle. #2 is the lighter and starting to show red on his wing bows which doesn't come out in the pics well. As suspected roo (previously stated he mounted his brooder mate legbar lady). He has pointy feathers that chick 1 doesn't on the hackles despite they both have large combs for 6 weeks. He settles within seconds of holding him. Like hey sure I'll snack your treat. This ain't so bad. Redness can be attributed to us interfering as we let a mama raise them. Chick 1 has black eyes so a fault (where's Chooks how do I get his input?) but I'm betting she won't crow. Or maybe we all learn marans are intriguing.
