He started crowing yesterday (11 weeks & 2 days old). It's still baby crowing, but nonetheless, obvious. I kind of figured he was boy all along, but was hoping I was wrong because I wanted to keep this chicken. I posted new pics on page 2.

I've easily picked out the buff orp roos (that were sold as pullets) and sexed the 5 black australorps my broody hatched for me, but this type of chicken is new to me. It is the only light brahma that made it from the eggs we ordered and the only brahma I've ever had, so I don't have any thing to compare it to. I'm hoping it's a female, but am suspecting a roo because it's tiny little comb has been pink for 2-3 weeks now.

Any experts here that can sex LBs this early or do I have to wait till it's older?

Are there any other clues that can help differentiate light brahma cockerels from pullets at this age, other than comb redness or stance?

I would guess it is a boy based only on a comparison with my one and only light brahma. Here is a picture of her at about 13wks:

Light Brahmas are very slow to mature and be 100% sure on sex early but I say cockerel from looking at the second pic.

As far as I understand, roos get black down their backs, the hens don't. It's true for my light brahmas.
Either way I'd say cockerel on this one.
