Hey all! I know I could wait to hear the anticipated sound, but I’m getting anxious trying to determine if we need to move house to accommodate a possible rooster since we are currently in city limits (jk, kinda 😅).

We took a chance and purchased production blues from TSC. All the rest of our chicks of various breeds are growing at similar rates, combs, wattles, and all. Except this particular chick which we have lovingly named Ruth (short for Ruthter). This chick has had comb and wattles growing in since about 3 weeks old. They are now 7 weeks although I haven’t been able to get a good picture recently. So these are from 5 1/2 weeks and 6 1/2 weeks old (labeled).

I’m hoping she’s just fast to mature due to being a production blue but also fully prepared to sell the house and move to the country for this beautiful chick. 🥲 I have not necessarily noticed any roo behavior. She acts similarly to all the others thus far.

You can see her beside some of her comrades and none of them have her grey beautiful pattern and none have combs so developed, let alone wattles. 🤞🏽🙏🏽
So what you do think? Should I list our house for sale? 🏠
