9 week old buff orpington cockerel or pullet?

So Nugget is a girl we had to take her to the Vet today for egg bound vent prolapse she couldn't have picked a more dramatic way to let us know. She is currently recovering in the house after getting stitched up she tore her cloaca trying to push the egg out. Luckily I work at an animal hospital and had a Dr willing to see her we believe this is the first egg and are worried about reoccurrence and are exploring our options she will be getting a hysterectomy if this happens again I don't care about the eggs I just want a healthy chicken

Nugget is lucky to have you as her owner and be taking such good care of her and I hope she has a fast recovery .....

Nugget update. She continues to improve daily but she misses her sisters I have been home all weekend nursing her back to health I have to take her to work with me tomorrow for a recheck (I work at a vet thank God) Hopefully the next will be normal, but if not then she will be getting a hysterectomy

What happened to nugget? Did she ever lay?

Orpington cockerel at 8 weeks, please see curls in tail feather, pullets tails don’t have curl.
