I am hatching cream legbar eggs.

I have had them in a coop and run by themselves since thanksgiving. Today I hatched a white cream legbar!

In talking to someone that knows them well, I found out they can carry a white recessive gene. Unfortunately, the little guy does not look like he will live, He seems to be malformed where the yolk sac is.

I thought some of you might like to see his picture. I never even knew they could occur. I was scratching my head on how he showed up in the hatcher..

Poor little guy! Some CLs do carry recessive white -- and it sounds like there is a pair in the background of your hatching eggs. some find the whites particulalry attractive. There is a thread on BYC specifically devoted to the white recessives:
