Today I went to the park and noticed three non wild ducks in the pond. Two Pekins and one Magpie. My mom tossed them some food and they were starving. So we went home and got them some actual food and tossed out three quarts. They ate all of it. They are pretty take for ducks especially ones that have been dumped. I need tips on how to catch them so they can get a good home.

@Azureduckchick @Fuchsia As for cathcing them, do you have a boat or something? See if they will get close to you when you are giving them food, and then maybe you could catch them in a net and transfer them to a plastic bin or tote will holes in it, something like this-

Something they can't see through, to keep them calm. A live trap might work too, but if other people stumble apron the trap, they might freak out, if there are ducks in there, you would have to wait at the lake until they got caught in th trap, and get them out right away. Good luck!

They come almost right up too you so I was thinking if I can get them close enough then someone could toss a blanket or something like that over them while I grab them.

You could call animal control and see if they can help. If not, or if you want to take them yourself I would do something like this.
I'm guessing most of them can't fly. I would setup a gate in a semi circle and lure them in it with some food. Once your do that use a large blanket or something to cover it. Have someone help you and open it up a bit with a large dog crate or carrier. Use some food to get them in there. Then have someone stay with the remaining ducks and another transport them to where ever you plan to keep them.
Re-peat the process until you have all the ducks safe.
I would try to get them all inside the gate so you don't scare away any other ducks.

Really big. I don’t have a good estimate but it’s a pretty good size pond.
Maybe something like this!

Or you could prop up a plastic bin with a stick, and tie a string to the stick. THEn when wth duck walks under the proceed up bin, to eat some duck food bait, then you pull the string, and the bin falls onto of them. Just be careful when pulling up the bin so they don't escape.

Something like this

Keep it open and toss food inside. Once all the ducks are in close it and put a blanket on top.
Then, with help, put the dog kennel up to the gate with the kennel door open. Then open up the gate just enough for them to go into the kennel. Use food to lure them in. Once you get some ducks in there shut the gate and door. Take the ducks in the kennel and drop them off, then come back to repeat this until you've got all of them.

Hope this makes sense lol
