? about new laying hen

My WL laid her first egg yesterday. Actually this is my first egg ever. When they first start laying is in infrequent? I mean can she lay and egg and then maybe go a few days before laying another one. Then as time progresses she will get on a "regular" schedule. I am taking into consideration that since she is a WL she will be laying quite often.

I have found that each bird has it's own laying pattern. Some pullets lay their first eggs every couple of days and some lay for a couple days and then take a couple days off. Eventually, they all get into their own pattern.

By the way, congratulations on that first egg! Isn't it exciting?!

Yes it really is exciting. It was really quite a fuss out in the chicken house too! You would have thought by all the commotion the sky was falling.
