Accidentally dropped VetRX into chicken’s eye

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well. Few days ago my chicken became sick again so I was giving her Vet RX drops via her beak. Accidentally couple of drops went into her left eye and she didn’t like it. This happened on two different occasions, and I didn’t wash it off properly (other time I didn’t as her eye is always tightly shut when sick).

Her breathing is calmer and better now, it seems the VetRX helped with her illness. However, her eye looks puffy and I’m worried whether it’s still stinging her. She’s still sitting with minimal movement, recovering. Today I tried to wash it off (although might be too late) with saline water, and it’s stressing her out. She opens her eye from time to time when I get close.

Welcome To BYC

Do you have photos of her and her eyes?

Glad that she seems to be getting a bit of relief from the remedy. The VetRx may be irritating to the eye, so rinsing with saline is a good idea.

Do you think you are dealing with respiratory illness or there's pus in the eye? You can flush the eye with saline and put an eye ointment in the eye like Terramycin if the eye seems to be swollen and infected.
