Crowing
I wound up getting a large, aka small, Nestera coop which is working very well for my flock of three. I will be adding an atrium? annexe? to it for expansion. The roosts are 8" off the base of the coop, so even I could fly down ok, if I could fit in the coop.I changed from a ramp to vertical trunk sections positioned in front of my drop boards. Many of my hens jump up & down using the stumps even with a 13' flight path in front of them. Stumps use less floor space than ramps.
They are pretty adaptable given food, water, fresh air.

However, I wound up abandoning a ramp up to the coop and platform on which it sits, doing the same thing you did with trunk sections, but less charmingly with upside down plant buckets.
Thanks again to all the guidance and encouragement here! I'm now a lot more comfortable in planning the addition, which will look a bit more like what BYC considers a coop.
