Adult Duck Neck Issues and Falling Over

Here’s a snapshot of a post by one of our educators : @Eggcessive this post is from a different thread- where they say “1/2 tablet of super B complex” but I am looking at several different super B complexes for sale online and the ones that I have in my kitchen and they all have different amounts of THIAMINE.
Some have 50 mg some have 100 some have 25 so I am curious to know as well perhaps @Eggcessive will see this tag and reply?
But I know that when the liquid be complex comes, it will be good to just use that and the vitamin E 400 IU gel tabs and the eggs or herbs for selenium. The durvet liquid be complex has 100 mg of thiamine per one ML and also 100 mg of niacinamide per one ML. That is what I use for my ducks when they need it and so do many other of us here who are duck owners

How long would you guess this treatment would take? It’s been over 2 weeks and she still flips over on her back when drinking or when my other ducks run at her. I tried putting her with the other ducks (which she LOVED), but the minute she flips over one attacks her..

My best guess is 2-3 months.
Of course she loves seeing the other ducks. Maybe you can keep her near them in a crate or something part of the day where she can see them and they can see her so she still feels like part of the flock that’s important for Ducks . Where are you keeping her most of the time inside?

She was in our barn in a heated room. I bring her with the other ducks for a bit and watch her, but now she’s to the point where she cries and pecks the door until I bring her back inside 😂 I will be getting ducklings next week, so hopefully she is happier with them not picking on her

How is your duck doing?
She is doing better (knock on wood). A few days ago I moved her outside full time with the other ducks. She has a bit of an issue with a minor prolapse (looks almost like vent gleet, not sure) but she continues to lay eggs and spend time outside! I’m hoping this weekend when they get some more pool time she will start to cheer up :)

I did give her Vitamin E, B Complex, and Niacin for about a month/month and a half

That’s fabulous news. I’m so happy to hear it. !!
Do you have plans to treat the vent for gleet or prolapse?
Do her poops look healthy?
Do her eggs have firm shells?
Does she have crushed oyster shells to eat for calcium?

The funny thing is, I have 2 Welsh Harlequins and BOTH have this prolapse/vent issue. They have access to oyster shell, poop like normal, and continue to each lay an egg every day. I’ve treated with cortisone, prep H, antibiotics…but it’s almost like they can’t keep their vent closed and a nickel/quarter size piece of tissue just won’t stay in

The last time, one of my Ducks prolapsed I used Manuka honey. I used it several times. It has stayed in ever since.
And she lays eggs and poops normally
