So I have never had quails before and I have an incubator on the way so I ordered some eggs that were supposed to be shipped after the New Year, but they were shipped before and somehow the postal service got them all the way here already and my incubator is still on is way! I believe its going to be a few days plus the 24 hours of wait while the temps regulate.
So my question is, since the hatch rate goes down the longer the wait, should I get them started with a homemade incubator? I used a heating pad and wet paper towels to do some duck eggs and that went well, but quail eggs are so much smaller and I don't want to mess them up. Has anyone ever done this before or at least thinks it will work?
