I have had several ducks go broody this time of year and they all start with being aggressive with the others before sitting. Thats the first sign I always notice is them loudly quacking anytime another bird gets close like they are screaming at them to stay away.
My ducks have been chaotic of late but I guess it is because two girls are sitting on eggs. When it is feed time, one girl comes off the eggs and starts creating; all the ducks follow suit; its hectic in the pen!

Yes, separating the ducks is a good idea. I have recently found a problem with ducks wanting to hump my hens, and they are now temporarily separated in the large pen. Soon we will make them their own shelter and pen. Apparently it is dangerous for drakes to hump hens!
Yes, super dangerous, more so if there aren't enough ducks to satisfy the drakes, they go to the hens and can kill them because a hen isn't designed to mate in the same was as ducks :)

@MolliMonster99 Have things settled down? I have one runner that is getting bloodied wing feathers out of nowhere and I am at a loss! I have to keep her separated within the enclosure and use a divider in the duck house at night. They've been fine for months together and then starting last month there's been trouble.

Are they going through a molt and growing new feathers?
