Aggressive Rooster? Or Not šŸ“?

The thing is with chickens there is usually a genetic component to the aggression. While occasionally one can get a bird to stop attacking them, this often doesn't work and even if it does the bird is still a danger to others. Not only that, the chicks he fathers are more likely to be ill tempered so you're going to have issues with future generations too. Someone once said the best way to have nice livestock is to not put up with the aggressive ones and that is the philosophy I use
I reckon the difference between you and me in regards to roosters is I’m saving a very sweet boy and planning a flock for him. All pets.
I can promise you I’m not afraid of a little bird, ever.

My birds are in a weird place between pets and livestock, with roosters tending more towards livestock and the hens tending towards pets. That said, if had any bird that goes out of their way to attack humans, hen or rooster, they would be gone as that's dangerous and a liability

You deal with your birds in a way that works for you, and I respect that.

Likewise, and speaking of, care to share pictures of your good boy? :3
He’s an Easter Egger, he’s so quiet and kind. Not at my house, yet. :/
His family calls him scratchy or scrappy, but my dog’s nickname is scrappy do.
I think he’s very handsome.

He's absolutely gorgeous! I absolutely love easter eggers :D
I’m 100% in love, he’s such a sweet boy
I grew up having parakeets and parrots, but they were kept in cages. I love birds and their dinosaur ancestry, I try to support wild birds and photograph them-which is surprisingly helpful to scientists.
I’ve never had a bird because I would never have a bird in a cage.
But this baby rooster has no life without us.
So I’m learning about chickens.
Appreciate y’all.
