ALABAMA!!

Oh my I just realized we should be there in a week , Good Lord willing.

I really hate to fly but DW is coming with me and that makes it better. Can't wait to see the GK's. Just got feed to have for while we're there. DD and hers will be here to take care of things.

It's been cold here. I turned the heat on Sunday morning it was so cold. DW doesn't mind it but me I just can't get warm enough. Arthritis kills me.

Now I've got to remember Fairhope and Auburn for visits. Gotta make a list of phone numbers, so I can call friends I've made on here. I just love AL and how friendly it is.

DW, said DS said something about putting in for NJ after AL but I don't know that I'd like NJ as much as AL. I'm sure the people aren't as nice in NJ. But unless the Lord moves us south we're staying here in the cold NY.

Lord have mercy I had a dream that it snowed already. Not just a little snow but bury you deep snow. Help me Jesus!

Well take care,

Rancher

If you're coming down the Fairhope way, a few points of interest, depending on what you like to do:
Mobile is great for old oak tree lined streets and old houses. They have Battleship Park, if you like war history stuff. The Battle house hotel is also beautiful.
Fairhope is great for "small town" shops in downtown fairhope. I've never seen another town like it, and I have traveled quite a bit.
If you like waterfront, check out the fairhope pier https://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000055716915&sk=photos
The
Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL is absolutely beautiful. It's worth a visit, even without the overnight stay. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/ptlal-grand-hotel-marriott-resort-golf-club-and-spa/ If you're there at night, say hello to the piano player in the lounge. He's awesome!
If you like the beach, there is, of course, Gulf Shores, AL, about a 45 minute drive from Fairhope.
If you like aviation, Pensacola, FL has a wonderful (indoor air conditioned) aviation museum. It's free and wonderful!! http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/
If
you have anything in particular you are interested in, lemme know and maybe i can help you out

I would like to invite everyone to this Saturday's Civil War Program at the Oneonta Public Library. The Alabama 48th Civil War Reinactors will be providing a Living History Program. There will be authentic Civil War artifacts and great stories. Please bring the entire family to the fun! We are located in Oneonta, Alabama. On Saturday, the library will be open from 9-2. I'll see all of you there!
