How long do you give eggs to hatch? 🤔

On April 6th, I found a secret nest under one of our mowers. There were nine eggs that were "good", I candled them & saw something in most of them... so I put them in our incubator.

Fast forward to April 26th. I hadn't forgot about the eggs (I've been checking them occasionally & making sure incubator was working correctly) but I DID forget dates. There were four out of the nine that hatched on Tuesday & I chalked that bunch up to being layed earlier than the others. So the next morning I candled the rest of the eggs. Most look like they're not viable, but there are two more that look like they could be promising.. as in they have an almost full grown chick in them.

I can most definitely post pictures, but I'm confused with what to do at this point!

Some pictures would Be nice. I would give it some time. dose the eggs smell bad? Can you see and movement or hear any chirps when you tap on the eggs?

The only way I see movement is when I turn them, the inside... spins? I haven't sat & watched them though. Maybe I'll try that later!

The whole incubator kind of smells to me. 😬 lol, these eggs have some poo & other stuff on them & I think that might be contributing to the smell though. I'll post pictures as well.

These are the 4 that I question. I know there's something in the second egg, but shouldn't it be farther along at this point?

Those are long dead, sorry
Nuthatched is right I’m afraid. Soo sorry. The chick should not swirl around in the egg loosely. Sorry again.
I thought so! I've had a few resemble swirling, but maybe it's just been the chick moving around inside.
Thanks for confirming.. I would have kept them in there forever wonderingwhat was going on, lol!

Are you going to try again. They were probably old when you found them.
I got 4 from the bunch! We already had a few hatch earlier this year, so I'm sure we'll have more eventually. 😅 These will be my first failed eggs, but I think it's because my hens were off & on too much.
