They where going to be to introduce blue to my silver Phoenix to add back to the Ameraucana silver line. But I ended up with a cockerel out of Dusty that is better for that. So blue golden duckwings and pets.

I don't see what all the excitement about Serama is about OEGB are just as small!

I have a new update!
I got a trio of Blue reds this evening! They all look pretty quality. I plan on breeding the best hen to my best BB red cock I brought in from NC and try to develop my own line for the blue reds, I think I have a pretty good base for that now.

So far my pure colors are: BB red, Blue red, & Silver duckwing Old English. Pinto and brown red for my pure color Aztecas.

I have some chicks hatching in the next couple days.
A lot of BB red X Lemon blue (5-8) (Basically trying to make a brown red with a grey base color instead of black, and over all lighter in color.) 5-7 Pinto's, 2 SDW, and 3 brown red Azteca.

So far, really loving this new incubator too!
I've been able to keep up with all my eggs weekly and it seems like I'm having better, more healthy embryos developing now that I can get them incubating within a weeks time.

Yeah, I agree! I would much rather have OEGB then Seramas. I have a little silkied serama cockerel in my oldest batch of OEGB and some of my OEGB's are SMALLER then the serama.
It's crazy.

Personally, I would use the first cockerel and breed him to the BB red and SDW. You would get F1 BB goldens along with pure SDW's.

Heck, if you wanted to you could even try to make something similar to a silver blue with the blue red looking pullet.

Working on getting Bantam Silver Ameraucana hens. My hatch on them gave me all cockerels and no hens. Oliver, Dusty's son actually has a better pea comb than most of those. *head shake*

My Phoenix are my in-between size that seems to work for moving color between the Bantams and my standard size birds. I've got a few that look Phoenix but are birchen and smaller than my current Phoenix and some that look Phoenix but are the size of my Ameraucana.

Anyway I really need some Bantam Ameraucana of the silver varietie but I might try to find blues if need be. The OEGB where to bring the colors I wanted to my Ameraucana projects currently lacking the Ameraucana Bantam hens for that.
