So I was going to incubate some eggs from my pearl male pen as I’d like more Italians, an autumn amber, and some blue (all possible with that group of hens). I started with 8-9 eggs (just back from 2 week trip) plus a few from my two other pens (one Italian and one EB roo). Today is day 4 (started a hatch-along over in the hatch-along forum if you’re bored!) and somehow I have 3 fertile eggs from my desired pen and 9 from the other 2! I tossed a couple initially due to cracks or other weirdness but also had 4 infertile, 2 from my Egyptian hen (there goes autumn amber!). I guess I’m just destined to have an EB dominated flock, go figure!

I love the title of your post! Sounds like my spring/summer of trying to hatch silkie eggs and get potential breeders out of shipped eggs. I had that same feeling all summer long until the last shipment came after mucho $$, and I finally got what I wanted!

You'll have what you want, eventually, I'm sure!
