They really are beautiful. I call them my black beauties. Mama is a Black Australorp and I actually never saw the Daddy...he must have been a wild rooster at our nearby park. But all of the babies are solid black like their mama, so her genes must be strong. I love how you can see different shades of purple and green in their shiny black feathers.
